Holiday Inn Express Las Vegas-Nellis by IHG

My husband and I had driven a long way and were worn out when we got to our room. Brown streaks covered the linen on my bed, and the other bed had brown marks and stains too. We always stay at Holiday Inn Express IHG, but this location’s appearance and standards don’t match the company. The receptionist came to look and take pictures, said “wow,” and told me she’d send them to her manager. She said the sheets had to be washed and dried, so I could either put them on myself or wait until tomorrow. We left and stayed at another location that was clean, with wonderful staff, up to date, romantic, and simply beautiful. Don’t stay at this Location Holiday resort the Squire at Grand Canyon by IHG. Believe the reviews and ratings. It doesn’t deserve even one star, but I had to select one to leave a review.

We came into town for a strongman competition and decided to add another night. The hotel was very accommodating, including with our 100lb Cane Corso. It can be hard to find places that will take him, and these folks were happy to. The room was very clean, the beds were comfortable, and the free breakfast buffet had lots of choices. It was a great stay, and we’d definitely come back.

After a 12-hour drive, we were exhausted, so finding a clump of hair by the bed first thing in the morning was especially unpleasant. It looked like a large amount had been left behind after vacuuming. There was also a housekeeping paper with room numbers on the floor, which I picked up to throw away. The bathroom had visible scratches and more hairs. We stayed in room 306, and the cleanliness fell far below what I expect from IHG. I’ve stayed at Holiday Inn Express many times, and this wasn’t the usual quality. The room conditions were very disappointing and below IHG standards.

I was in town for a funeral, and the funeral brought me more joy than this stay. The carpet was filthy, water ran from the tub instead of dripping, and neither the iron nor microwave worked. The laundry machines cost money, and they charged for detergent but didn’t provide change. Renovations were underway, but they didn’t affect my complaints. This location failed Holiday Inn standards.
