The Lexi Las Vegas

Friendly people and very reasonable prices. I had a good stay. The lounge wasn't open yet, but I'm sure I'll book again once it is.

I liked the old-world art deco look of the place, though I didn't see the rooms. The bar staff were friendly, and I don't blame the bartender for a mistake, but the prices felt wild for an older off-Strip hotel in a rough area. My total should've been $26, based on the menu's $11 mimosas and $5 Coke, yet I was charged $40 after tip for two mimosas in plastic cups and a tiny Coke with mostly ice. There was also an extra $16 Moscow mule on my tab that I hadn't ordered. I came back to close out at the end of the night, but the bartender had already closed it. She adjusted the register, charged my card again for the right amount, and said the difference would appear as a credit. The receipts accidentally went through the wash, and by Tuesday I could see two Saturday charges totaling $91 in my bank account. I'm not looking forward to sorting out the extra $50 when rent is due. I was there for an event and ordered two mimosas and one Coke. I hadn't realized they were closing because I'd been outside. I can't rate the rooms since I didn't go in them.

The pool was clear and well kept, with plenty of loungers for catching the Vegas sun. There's no lifeguard, so keep an eye out. The Lexi is also easy to reach from the airport, and far enough from the Strip for a decent night's sleep while still close enough to get there quickly. Inside, the artwork is everywhere, even on the ceilings. There's replica art near the front desk, including the Mona Lisa, and you'll keep spotting new pieces throughout the hotel and rooms. Some are beautiful, some strange, some fantastical. It's a boutique place that makes you want to stay in your room, in a good way. Hard to find a hotel like it in Las Vegas, and I highly recommend it.

The area around it is mostly strip clubs and gun shops, with little else nearby, and I won't be coming back. When I arrived, the place was practically empty. I stayed four nights and didn't see anyone for the first two days, then met another guest on day three. They told me the hotel was known for swinger parties, and the place did give me a shady feeling. I was told the pool was open, but when I went to see it the gate was locked. Staff then said it was closed for construction, even though the lights were on and it looked open. The restaurant and gym were never open either.
