Blue Buffalo Resort

We had a wonderful week in three Willow cabins and are already looking forward to booking again. It’ll be our go-to until we buy property. The fire pits are beautiful, the resort feels classy, and the staff were friendly and quick to bring things when we needed them. Breakfast was a good continental spread. One change that would help families: blackout shades over the existing ones, since the sunlight comes right through and the kids may be up at 6 in the morning.

We booked a Willow cabin at the last minute for a four-night family snowmobiling trip, and it fit all five of us comfortably, including our three kids. It was quiet, clean and cozy, with a queen bedroom, bunks, a sofa bed, full bathroom, kitchen and the amenities we needed. You can sled straight from the cabins onto the Island Park trail system, or drive a short way north to the parking lots. There’s laundry on site, grab-and-go breakfast and drinks each morning, and a grocery store 10-15 minutes north. Office staff were friendly, and the place was affordable and well located for our trip. This was our first stay at Blue Buffalo, and we’re glad we picked it. We’ll be back, and I’d recommend it.

The staff made things easy, and the care with the small details helped make this a first-rate stay. The rooms and grounds were especially clean. We may have lucked out with weather, with sunny days in the 70s. My only room issue was that the bunk bed wasn’t a comfortable fit for a mature adult. I didn’t explain what I needed or give the resort a chance to suggest a different cabin, though. Thanks.

There’s a lot here for families, from pickleball, soccer, volleyball and a small playground to free nightly s’mores and breakfast. The larger cabins suit families, while showers and bathrooms are just steps away from the small cabins. It’s very nice and clean, with laundry, a pizza place, fishing guides, and a little shop selling local ice cream. Yellowstone is about 20 minutes away, and fishing and boating are only a few minutes away.
