Holiday Inn Express Lathrop (stockton Area)

The continental breakfast was a nice perk, and there are lots of places to eat nearby. There's a food truck strip across the street next to the Arco, plus Denny's, Jack in the Box, Taco Bell, and Carl's Jr around the Quality Inn. The staff were the highlight for me. Abel, Kayla, and Rebecca at the front desk made my stay pleasant. The hotel could use some upgrades, though. A lot of blue collar workers stay here, and rooms near the linen utility room or the pool can get noisy with workers coming and going.

There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance, including Dennys, Popeyes, Jack, KFC & A&W, McDonald, Carl Jr, and a couple of India restaurants. I stayed here while my truck was being repaired. The room was clean and newly remodeled, with no roaches or bed bugs.

The hot tub was disappointing: its jets didn't work, the water wasn't very warm, and after about five minutes we had to get out because the cock roaches were everywhere. We couldn't set down our shoes, drinks, phones, towels, or room key in that area. On the way there we'd already seen a couple more after finding a big cock roach right outside our room door. We went around 9:30pm and couldn't enjoy the pool and hot tub, which is one reason we chose this location. We'd stayed here a couple of times before without real issues, but after this stay we won't be back.

The rooms feel worn out. I didn't spot any live bugs, but there were dead ones along the carpet edges. I only noticed them while packing to leave, when I had to retrieve something that had rolled away.
