The rooms are updated, beautiful, and clean, with none of the musty smell I’ve noticed at other properties. The “king” room kitchen was handy, though the bed wasn’t really a king, it was two smaller beds pushed together. The pool area was clean and comfortable, but I had to move chairs around to get better sun. The fire it area was nice, but the fire pit didn’t work, and the pool wasn’t warm enough to swim in during our stay. Check-in and cleaning communication wasn’t good, so our room only got cleaned once in 10 days. I’m not sure I’d return, since other properties at that price seem more consistent.

The Elmar was a great value at under $200 a night for two people, and we’ll definitely stay again when we visit family. My teenage daughter and I were in town for a baby shower, and found our room spacious, carefully equipped, and spotless, like a quiet little luxury hideaway. It felt like a suite, with a king bed in a bedroom that closes off from the living space, plus a couch that folded out to a full-size bed. The decor was a kind of culturally ambiguous minimalism. The property sits on a quiet street close to the water, bars, restaurants, and Lauderdale-by-the-Sea nightlife, but our room was virtually soundproof. The pool was heated and, like the rest of the place, very clean. Hospitality staff on-site were wonderful and responsive.

Adriana and her staff keep this place in great shape for a vacation. The rooms are just the right size, the appliances are upgraded, and there’s a wonderful pool. The customer service I got throughout the stay was amazing, and that’s why I’ll be back. 10/10!

El Mar is always a pleasure to stay at. The rooms are fantastic and have everything you could need for a comfortable visit. Adriana is a wonderful addition to the team, and we really appreciate everything she’s done. It’s conveniently close to the beach, shops, and restaurants. We’ll be back soon!
