Ted was so polite and friendly, and breakfast had a good range of options. I especially liked the sausage and waffles. The shower pressure was strong, with a head I could adjust. The bed wasn’t the most comfortable, and without carpet the room echoed a little, but a rug would probably help. Still one of my best hotel stays.

Hot water in the shower was about the only thing this room had going for it. The electrical setup needs attention: the hair dryer only worked if I held it against the outlet, and the TV wouldn’t turn on until I changed the batteries and fiddled with the wires behind it. There was drywall paste stuck to the back of the bedspread, a stained mattress pad, and a rusty lamp base. For $189.90, it was only slightly better than a tent.

The breakfast was awful, with cold eggs and sausage links even at 6 a.m. There was mold in the toilet, a leaking shower drain that kept the tub from filling, and outlets that didn’t work. The bathroom door barely opened far enough to get in. It looked like it had been kicked in, but the curved shower bar had been put on a straight tub and the door had been hitting it repeatedly. I’ve worked in maintenance and construction for 30 years, and there’s no way a door could get that damaged in a two-night stay, even if I’d been slamming it against that badly installed bar. They charged me $100 for the damage, and they haven’t returned my calls. I disputed it with my bank and filed a fraud claim. I’ll also be contacting the state office, corporate, and the BBB. I think this is a scam they run across the country. I never write reviews, but this place deserves zero stars. I’ve seen Motel 6 locations in better shape. Terrible place.

The room was okay, and the mattress was comfortable enough to sleep on. The awkward part was how the pet fee was handled. It was included in our original reservation, but after our flight was canceled, we called ahead to say we’d arrive a day late. We later learned that call had automatically canceled both the room and the fee, and nobody told us. When a desk employee saw us with our dog in the hallway, he stopped us to say we had to pay. We thought it was already taken care of. As soon as we got back to the room, he called to say we hadn’t been charged and would need to pay after all. Some of the desk interactions felt condescending, and this whole exchange was uncomfortable and confrontational, almost like a power trip. It could have been handled more professionally and privately. Better communication and more respectful service would have made a big difference.
