The Inn At Leola Village, a Historic Hotel of America

The room had no soundproofing, and at 7 in the morning we were jolted awake by customers talking, furniture scraping, and other noise from the adjoining cafe. We learned from the Rooms Manager afterward that it was the cafe next door, but nobody had warned us about this beforehand. After we complained, we weren't offered anything for the stay, and the staff gave us the impression that our happiness didn't matter. For what we paid for one night, this was extremely disappointing. As soon as we arrived, a single flush made the toilet overflow. We were told there was no cleaning crew available, so the front desk staff soaked up the water with towels but had nothing to disinfect the floor. We had to leave the room towels on the floor so we wouldn't step in it. I wouldn't recommend this Hotel.

The local area is full of farm stands, quilt shops, and furniture stores, and the garden walk is my favorite. The spa is a close second. I've stayed at Leola Village several times, and every visit has been wonderful. The rooms feel warm and luxurious, and most have comfortable sitting areas. The staff bring the kind of guest service you might not expect if you're used to chain hotels. Deborah in the Cafe, Lisa, Gavin, Alejandro, and Leah in the restaurant, and Christian, Carlos, and Matt at the front desk have all contributed to that. The food is delicious, too. The pastry team is world class, from the cafe pastries to the restaurant bread and deserts. If you want a quiet break from city life, book through the hotel website for the best prices and available packages and add ons. Make restaurant and spa reservations ahead of time, since they book quickly.

Alyssa really made the experience for us. She was upbeat and attentive from the moment we sat down, mixed great drinks, and made sure we had what we needed. It felt clear that she cares about her customers and takes pride in her work. We’ll definitely come back, and if Alyssa is your bartender, you’re in great hands.

The room was comfortable, spotless, and thoughtfully appointed. The linens, toiletries, and service were all excellent, and the team seemed to take real pride in both quality and the way they treat people. The guys at the front desk were kind and respectful to guests, and gave the impression they’d treat anyone they met just as well. The check-in team was sincere, courteous, and helpful. Really good people all around. And the cherry hand pies are fantastic!
