Red Bell Inn

The room worked fine for our New Year’s Eve plans, and the shops were an easy, pleasant walk away. We'd happily stay here again, and are looking forward to the 2026 renovations.

The staff communicated well, and check-in went smoothly. I liked being in town, though the nearby road made the location noisy. What really let the stay down was the uncomfortable bed, which had hair and a nail on it. I wanted to like the place more.

There was no front desk, the Wi-Fi was out, and none of the TVs worked unless I connected them to our phone. We had to use keys for the doors, which was fine, but the ACs didn't work either. We were told we'd get a discount, yet the full charge went straight onto the card we had listed, despite choosing to pay at check-in. They blamed our booking agent even though they had taken the money. They only offered to mail a check after I contacted both the agent and the property to ask about the discount. There were signs in the rooms asking guests not to leave negative reviews, which struck me as a bad sign. I heard they may be remodeling, and hope both the rooms and management improve.

The room was clean and good value, with an excellent spot near Front. The setup is unusual, above commercial properties and without any signs. My only real gripe was that check-in couldn't be earlier.
