Sleeping Lady Mountain Resort & Spa

We've been to Sleeping Lady a handful of times, and always leave feeling refreshed and impressed. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the food is great, the staff are excellent, and we enjoy the location and amenities. Our wedding there was the best weekend of our lives. Jena and Kevin were especially helpful through the planning, and everything ran smoothly for us and our guests. There was one small hiccup at the Welcome Party, but staff and management dealt with it quickly. They were on top of the details and seemed ethical in how they run the business. I'd recommend it for a getaway, a retreat with friends or family, or a wedding.

I'm deeply disappointed and wonder if the quality has dropped. This was my third stay. The first two were great, but this time was a disaster. Breakfast cost $70 for two adults and a child, and felt like a waste. Everything was cold, and the milk was spoiled. We also weren't told there was no heat in the restaurant until we'd already been seated, so the cold room and bad food made for a miserable meal. I won't return. Don't go there.

My family stayed here last night and came away very disappointed. The room was clean and warm, but the hospitality was a disaster. Breakfast was $25 per adult and $15 per child, a steep price for a buffet barely better than a free Holiday Inn Express spread. The milk was spoiled, which is unacceptable, and the food was cold. There wasn't much to choose from either.

The resort has a lovely setting and potential, but we expected fewer problems for the price. One staff member did a great job resolving a discrepancy with our reservation, and the staff we spoke with were kind. Still, the laundry process was frustrating. My sister-in-law had to make several trips to the front office to find the laundry room, get a key, and gather enough quarters for the $4.75-per-load fee. Staff seemed unsure of how it worked. We also found a hair in an office cookie. Our loft for five had several issues. The heater needed attention on arrival, one window screen had a hole even after maintenance reinserted it, and we had to call for toilet paper because there was no extra. We hadn't been told that daily room service was by request. At check-in, the polite front desk agent couldn't answer basic questions about the property, which made settling in harder. Clearer guest information, better staff training, and more consistent maintenance would help. Given this visit, we'd probably look elsewhere next time.
