We were in room 400 for two nights, and the room was clean and roomy. The lobby smelled very clean when I walked in, and every staff member we met was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was the usual eggs, sausage, waffles, fruit, and breads. It was hot and tasted as expected. The street traffic and trains passing several times a night were loud in our room, which is why I gave the room four stars. It might be quieter on the other side of the hotel. I’d stay here again if I’m back in the area.

We were there for four days and would happily stay again when we’re back in the area. The hotel was very clean and well run. Staff were ready to help with questions, and the daily cleaning crew on our floor took care of our requests. Breakfast was fresh, clean, and well stocked.

For a small hotel, the breakfast and fitness center were great, and check-in was the fastest I’ve experienced, even at 1 a.m. I enjoyed my quick two-night stay otherwise. The problem is that I appear to have gotten bed bugs from the bed. I had no bites on Friday when I traveled there, but after getting home Sunday, I developed many bites all over my body that look like bed bug bites. I’m from Florida and know what mosquito bites look like, and these aren’t those. Older hotels always carry some risk, but it’s unfortunate because the other parts of the stay were good. I had to take precautions with my clothes and luggage so I wouldn’t bring anything home. I hope they can fix this. I’d have rated lower, but the other aspects were great.

The facility was nice, and the breakfast crew did a very good job. The desk staff could use more training, though. At both check-in and check-out I had to wait for them to get off their phones. They also don’t offer free water like other Hamptons do.

The indoor pool was checked for us to make sure it was ready, and the staff were so friendly and accommodating. Our room was clean, the beds were comfy, and the service was excellent. Had a wonderful stay, highly recommend it.
