Best Western Liberty Inn

The room itself was clean, with a nice bed and pillows. Checking in, though, felt like I was a bother to the woman at the front desk. There were no greetings or basic pleasantries, no hello, thank you, or have a nice day. I also saw a couple report that their room wasn't ready. She moved them to a room upstairs, but didn't apologize or say anything about the delay. She spoke English well, so I don't know why she chose not to engage. I've had better customer service at gas stations.

The place is clean, and the staff are great. Breakfast was excellent, and the rooms were quiet. But maintenance seems to be missing: the entry and bathroom tiles were loose and uneven, the water pressure was low, and the showerhead was clogged with mineral deposits. The closet doors wobbled in their tracks, and the headboard was loose on the wall. It feels like the hotel is clean but falling apart.

The room was pretty quiet, and the bed was comfortable enough despite being firm. The pillows were good too. What made sleeping difficult was the door, which didn't seal and let in a lot of hallway light. I like a darker room. The blow dryer was broken, a small but inconvenient issue. The room was spacious and very clean, which was what we needed after a long travel day. We left before breakfast and coffee were available, so I can't speak to those. Decent place for a night.

We couldn't bring ourselves to eat breakfast after seeing the state of the room. There was mold in the shower, urine around the toilet, and heavily stained furniture. We also heard noise from the floor above for most of the night. The Lebec area is a good place to stop, but stay somewhere else. This was the worst hotel experience I've had, and I won't return.
