The complimentary breakfast was great, and the common rooms where we ate were beautiful. We enjoyed having access to bikes, though the road felt busy, so we didn’t ride as much as I’d expected. Our suite was beautiful, with lots of historic character and details still intact alongside some modern updates. It could use a few more updates or repairs, but nothing made us uncomfortable. Don’t expect a chain hotel setup. It’s more of a bed and breakfast, and a great one for the price.

A beautiful old house on gorgeous grounds, with friendly, knowledgeable staff. I was there just one night, and the room was clean and easy to access. The shower pressure was surprisingly good for an older property, and there was a big selection of breakfast food in the morning.

The grounds are lovely, and we built our own fire pit after dinner. It was such a peaceful way to end the night. We saw the pool being cleaned and maintained, and other guests were using it, though we didn’t go in ourselves. The inn was full that weekend, and breakfast in the main manor had a nice buzz. We found the continental spread hearty, even though it had no hot items. We also enjoyed Firefly Gastro Pub, about 10 minutes away, where the food and cocktails were fabulous. We’d encourage people to give Seven Hills Inn a chance. My husband surprised me with a birthday weekend here. We live about 1.5 hours away in CT, and checked in Saturday and out Sunday. The inn has three main buildings: the historic mansion, a smaller carriage house on the right, and the two-story motel-style Terrace House on the left. I can see why someone expecting the mansion might feel it was a “bait and switch” to be placed in Terrace House. The check-in welcome was functional rather than especially hospitable. When we asked about the advertised hiking trails, the young woman didn’t know about them and couldn’t advise us because she lived in a town over. We were in room 106 at Terrace House, and my husband felt it matched the listing. It was clean, with fresh bathroom and linens, and the air conditioning was running full blast when we arrived. The window unit was noisy, but it kept outside sounds out. We didn’t come to the Berkshires to stay in a room, and we were satisfied when we were inside. Cellular service in the area isn’t good, but the inn’s wifi was strong.

For a quiet weekend away, this place is okay. The staff were nice, and they offer continental breakfast. I had to switch rooms because the heat wasn’t working in the one I was first assigned, but they moved me without charging for the upgrade. The rooms are neat and pretty well appointed. Guesthouse rooms are all on one level and have a fancy motel feel. I’m not sure I’d come back, but if I did, I’d choose the main house.

The grounds are lovely, and the hotel’s first floor is inviting and well appointed for what it is, with a bit of grandeur. The sheets seemed clean, and every staff member I dealt with was friendly and helpful. Still, I won’t return. The room floor, carpet, and apparently the shower were filthy. We didn’t notice right away, but walking around made it obvious the floor hadn’t been cleaned. We tried a little morning yoga and stretching, then gave up because there was so much hair, paper scraps, and lint on the floor. My partner also spotted a used band aid in the shower. We were there this past weekend doing research in the area. I’m hesitant to leave a bad review during COVID, and I don’t usually review at all. I just think the place has real potential, but missed the mark badly on cleanliness.
