Walking Horse Lodge Lewisburg

The staff were welcoming and friendly, which I appreciated, but I had a very uncomfortable one-night stay. There were insects all over the room, the towels were torn, and the place was poorly cleaned. Everything inside felt extremely old and worn. The reception area was blocked off with a wooden stick, which seemed unprofessional, and there was no complimentary coffee or tea like at most hotels I've visited. They also asked me for a deposit, which was disappointing given the condition of the hotel. I've stayed in many hotels and never been asked for one. I wouldn't recommend staying here until major improvements are made.

Everything else was good, but I found a bug on the sign for my room, 227.

Historic Walking Horse Lodge is a great place to stay if you're passing through Lewisburg. It's close to Hi-way 50 drive in and Henry Horton Park, and the team here is great.

The mattress was comfortable, the air conditioner worked well, and the room was quiet, but the motel was old, faded, and in need of repairs. Some of the furniture was broken, and the pieces didn't match. The tub faucet dripped. We were charged $93 for the night. We stayed here seven years ago. It wasn't fancy, but it used to be inexpensive and clean, with an adequate breakfast. This time, the free breakfast was awful coffee, milk poured into an empty creamer bottle, light bread, jelly packets, small apples, and two kinds of cereal. When we entered the lobby at 8 in the morning, a woman hurried to put out plastic containers of bread and cereal, and even the apples had been put away. The pool looked like it hadn't been open for a long time. As we were leaving, we noticed what seemed to be permanent residents, unleashed animals, charcoal grills, chairs outside the rooms, broken-down vehicles, and potted plants sitting on air conditioners.
