The room was clean and looked comfortable, the beds were decent, and check-in with the polite, professional front desk staff went smoothly. Still, the toilet problem and the response from management made this a stay I won't repeat. It clogged around 5 PM. I tried the plunger, thinking it was minor, but around 2:30 AM I woke to waste and water covering the floor. With our family of six unable to use the suite's only toilet, I spent until about 4 AM clearing the mess with the plunger and a trash can so we could get through the night. It was disgusting. I told the front desk, who contacted the manager, and asked for the night to be refunded. The first offer was 25%, then 50% after I explained the situation further. I still felt a full refund was fair given the inconvenience and unsanitary conditions. I also asked to move rooms and was told there were no suites available. Later another suite opened up, which made me question that answer. We did move in the end, but the whole thing left a bad impression. A few updates would help the property, but the bigger issue was how management handled this. While doing laundry, we also found a dead baby roach by the hallway laundry door. I won't return to this location. I hope they take the feedback seriously and improve under better management.

After a fun day at Holiday World, we had a great stay here. I was pleasantly surprised: the rooms were clean and the location was quiet. Choice hotels can be a gamble sometimes, but this one worked out really well.
8/10
With everything in Owensboro booked because of the hail storm, I ended up here. I usually stay at Hilton or Marriott since I travel quite a bit, but I'd come back. The king room had a recliner, the beds were comfortable, and the staff were lovely. It's no Taj Mahal, but it was quiet and comfortable, and the price is hard to beat.

The room was already 80 degrees when we arrived, and it smelled of cigarette smoke. The place is very outdated and so dirty it's disturbing. Staff were very rude too. I wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy.
4/10
The comfortable beds and okay breakfast were about the only good parts of our stay. The hallways smelled like cigarette smoke and pot, and the hot water was hit or miss. Upstairs, people were partying with loud music at the end of our hallway. The carpet on the halls and stairs looked like it hadn't been vacuumed in six months. It's a two story place with no elevator, and all the entrances were open, so anyone could walk in at any time. That felt unsafe. The hotel is also in the middle of nowhere. We always stay with Choice Hotels, but this was the worst one we've stayed in. I'm really surprised they have this status.
