I’ve never been turned away like this in all my hotel bookings. We arrived at the Ramada at 9:30 pm with our 7-year-old, after a 10-day fall foliage road trip. I’d booked two months ahead and tried calling twice while we were on the way, but nobody answered. There was a large tour bus at the property and a full parking lot, with other guests in the lobby. Sunny first told me they couldn’t let us into our room because of air-conditioning and plumbing problems and that they had no reservation for us. I’d booked through Priceline, so I called them for help. They spoke with Sunny, who then said the hotel was overbooked. I’m sure the tour bus got our room. We spent an hour finding another place and had to drive 45 minutes out of our way to find somewhere safe to stay. Don’t stay here.

The restaurant was my favorite part. Its breakfast buffet is excellent, with all the bacon you can eat. Rooms were modern, clean, and good, and the pool area was nice. The bed was a little uncomfortable, and the place felt a bit overpriced. Then again, everything seems to cost more these days.

The price was very cheap, which was a plus, and the staff were really friendly. The breakfast buffet had a decent selection, though most of it was a bit bland. The bacon was great. It was pretty low key apart from a screaming child, though that can happen anywhere.

I rented two rooms, but the front desk guy, Zack, charged me twice for each, $228 per transaction for the room and deposit. He said one charge hadn’t gone through and gave me a lot of trouble. He was going to leave me without rooms while still charging me for the reservations. My online banking screen showed two hotel charges of $228 each, but I had to come up with another $228. Almost $500 was tied up for no clear reason. Is that fair hotel policy? The first two transactions would keep my money for 5-7 business days.

The bathroom was so small it was impossible to change in there, and the food wasn’t as good as before. The chicken tenders were bland and tough. The pool was great, but the hot tub was out of order. I was a little disappointed this time.
