Guest reviews

We got a newly renovated room, and it was so much nicer. The hotel is in a great location, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. Breakfast had a good selection, and the person serving it was sweet. Renovations explain the low rate compared with similar hotels. Once the work is finished, the place should be much better. I just wish they could close for a month and get it all done at once.
I usually save negative reviews for something serious, and this elevator is a real safety concern. On my first ride to the third floor, the manager helped me lift my luggage cart over carpet that was being replaced. Then the doors shut, there was a loud banging sound, and the elevator stopped at the third floor before dropping about a foot. The manager said, “This is normal.” My roommate later rode it too and called it dangerous. We avoided it for the next four days and used one of the two stairways that were open during the remodeling. The stairwell was unlit when we came back in the evenings, but we managed. When my roommate was leaving a day early, I went down the stairs first while she sent her bags down in the elevator. I took one bag from the car, then reached in for the second as the doors started closing. I stood in the doorway expecting the sensor to stop them. It didn't. I had to push hard just to force the doors apart enough to get out before they shut. I was badly shaken. I pressed the up button, the doors opened again, and I grabbed the rest of her bags before they closed. I reported it right away to the manager on duty. She blamed the renovations, saying the elevator might be malfunctioning, like the internet and TV, and promised to call the elevator company. That evening, I asked three maintenance workers about it. They knew nothing, which made me think the report hadn't been passed along. She also dismissed the elevator problem as a renovation issue. That's not an acceptable excuse for a safety sensor failing. Only after that did I check reviews. I rarely do that for a Marriott, since they're usually in good shape, but I found elevator complaints going back at least a year. One person compared the ride to FEAR FACTOR, and I understand why. Be careful here. Management didn't seem to take guest safety seriously. I'll report this to Marriott too. It has changed how I book hotels. I'm a Platinum Elite Marriott member, and I'll always read reviews now. I won't stay here again.
The pool was green and piled with trash, and there was mold and filth around the property. The lobby furniture was torn up, breakfast was lame, and the remodeling was badly done with terrible workmanship. Our first room had an entry door that wouldn't lock, so we were moved. The second room had sewer air backing up into it, and the smell was so awful we couldn't sleep. The floors were uneven, doors wouldn't shut, and the whole building felt like it was falling apart. I'm amazed it's still standing, let alone operating. Don't stay here.
We only stayed because our flight was canceled and it was late to move around with a baby. It was shelter for the night, nothing more. The suite felt cramped and musty, probably from the wet carpet. The blackout shade didn't fit the window, so light came in, and the AC kicked on loudly enough to startle me a few times. The room was missing a closet door, and the old sofa bed was uncomfortable. There were no sheets or pillows for it, so I had to fetch them from the front desk myself. I asked for a pack and play, but they called after my child had gone to sleep to say they couldn't find one. The refrigerator was not mentioned, but the basic room setup was disappointing. I wouldn't count on sleeping on the sofa bed. Save your back and use the floor, if it isn't wet. This was by far the worst Marriott property I've stayed at.
I planned to make this hotel my home for several months after checking in on August 22, 2025. Instead, the lack of follow-through on basic things made that impossible. I wouldn't recommend it for a long stay or if you want to be comfortable. The first room's AC wasn't working within hours of my arrival. I reported it straight away, but was told maintenance wouldn't be available until Monday and was offered another room just for the weekend. Over the next several days, I heard repeatedly that it would be fixed: filters were “cleaned,” they provided fans, and eventually a technician checked it. After 22 days with no real solution, I asked to move. The move to the second room took several hours longer than expected. The TV didn't work, hot water took nearly 10 minutes, and the refrigerator lacked parts, including the ice bucket and door rails. I told the front desk, but most responses were delayed or just “no,” including my request for a TV upgrade. Management also didn't take responsibility when housekeeping accidentally threw away my retainers, which I'd left on the bathroom counter. I reported it that day. The next day, the front desk said, “we couldn’t find it, sorry.” That response was dismissive. If I damaged something in the room, “sorry” wouldn't be enough, and guest property deserves care too. I also saw mice in sticky traps while looking at other rooms, which should have been a warning from the start. And there were ROACHES, as the photo shows. They're so big they should be paying part of the bill. After all that, the ongoing frustration and lack of urgency, accountability, and comfort made a long stay impossible.
