I had a terrible experience trying to get rates. Three women in the lobby kept talking while I waited to ask, and after at least five minutes I had to leave because I couldn't wait any longer.

For $70, this place is hard to beat. I was here on a Monday, when the discount was on, and I've paid $120 off peak for rooms that were much worse. The staff were friendly when I arrived at 10pm, and the room and bathroom were clean, with no trace of the previous guest. The room was basic. The TV worked, but there was no clock, desk, or coffee pot. At this price, who cares?

BED BUG WARNING: ROOM 216 About two hours after I posted my review, Travelocity emailed to say the hotel's offered refund depended on me not leaving a negative review. Was the hotel too slow to ask for this, or were they trying to get the review taken down? Who knows! I stayed overnight Sept. 17 - Sept. 18. The rooms looked clean but needed repairs. One bed was fine, the other incredibly uncomfortable. I settled into the uncomfortable one and, about 10 minutes later, felt the familiar itching. I'm very sensitive to bed bugs, so I pulled off the pillowcases and found one inside, alive and moving. I have a picture. Bed bugs can happen anywhere, and I wasn't especially upset about that. This was the start of a longer trip, though, and I didn't want everyone covered in bites. I went to the front desk hoping simply to switch rooms. The woman there refused a room because they were full, wouldn't refund me, and denied the bug existed. I showed her the photo and the welts already swelling on my arms. She pulled out photocopied IDs of the last guest in the room and asked if I thought he looked like the kind of man who carried bed bugs. Bizarre. I told her I wasn't staying that night, would take more pictures, and Travelocity would be in touch. About halfway back to my room, I turned around and saw she'd decided to come look at the bug after all. She still wouldn't believe it was a bed bug, or even a real bug. I stripped the bed and found another live one moving in the mattress protector. I have video of it, but Google wouldn't let me add video, so there's a still image. You can hear the start of how she acted during the rest of my search in the background. She began filming me on her phone and berating me while I looked for more bugs in both beds. She kept suggesting I'd brought them, either because I was “filthy” or some sort of scammer. It was unbelievable and awful to deal with at midnight when I just wanted sleep before a long drive. I did see the expected black and brown flecks around the edges of both mattresses, but being filmed in my room and treated that way left me too flustered to remember to take a picture for this review. I contacted Travelocity for a refund, and they said she was refusing to talk or answer the phone. At 1AM, I had to drive 45 minutes to the next city to finally sleep. I'm writing this from the Comfort Inn, with all my clothes in trash bags, enjoying a bed without bed bugs and without employees filming me in my room. How a place responds to bed bugs is what matters for a review. I can't imagine a worse response than the one I got from Coyote East Motel last night. On a separate note, something odd seemed to be going on in one room as I walked to the front desk. There was a bizarre drawing taped to its door. Maybe it was a Wiccan protection ward or a Satanic wizard fireball spell trap. I wasn't going to find out.

I got stranded here in a blizzard back in 2019, I think. The tube TV had no color, and my bed was colder than the room. It was a pretty awful stay. I stopped by today to relive the memory. I'll give it five stars since it was years ago, and maybe things have changed.
