I spent $1300 for a month, but left after just 30 minutes because my health and wellbeing mattered more. The room was disgusting, had old food in the fridge, and a broken shower. I asked for a refund as I was leaving and was told Cherie, the manager, would contact me within 48 hours. Four days passed, and I couldn't get hold of her even though she was in the office. I was later told by someone who doesn't even work there that they wouldn't refund me because of "damages." I caused none. They cited a water leak and damage to the door, but both problems were already there before I arrived. I hadn't even unpacked before putting everything back in my truck and leaving. I eventually got a partial refund. They charged me for one night I didn't stay and added a $250 fine, with the explanation changing each time: first "damages," then "a disturbance," then "smoking Marijuana," which I don't even do. The desk lady was extremely unprofessional and said "wa wa wa" while I was trying to understand the refund and fines. I'm still angry about the money they kept. I wish I'd read the reviews before booking; it would've saved me hundreds.

There was a big pool tournament in town, and after I drove five hours, I found out they'd given my room to someone willing to pay more. The place was closed, with a phone number on the door. I called and spoke with Chantelle, who said my room had been booked. For a refund, I had to go through Priceline, but when Priceline contacted Coastal Inn, they claimed I was a no-show. I called the number on the door again and told Chantelle they needed to report that I'd been there. She suggested someone who didn't know I had arrived must have marked me as a no-show. I went through the refund process again, and they still said I hadn't shown up. I have proof I was there and that I booked another room five minutes after calling Chantelle. After spending hours trying to sort it out, I disputed the charge with my credit card company and got my money back. Based on what I read in other reviews, these are some of the creepiest rooms around, and you may be lucky just to have a room when you arrive. It felt like a total racket, and the people working there should be ashamed.

The whole building smelled like urine, and my 30-minute stay was awful. The first room was disgusting, not fully functional, with dirty towels and garbage. The next one was still filthy, had the previous guest's clothes hanging on the bathroom door, and water sprayed everywhere when I turned it on. There weren't any window screens. It felt like a health inspector's worst nightmare. I'm waiting for my refund.

For $277, I expected a much better room, especially since everything else was booked that weekend. Instead, it smelled like dog as soon as we walked in. There was blood and dirt on the bed, trash from the last guest in the fridge, and my feet turned BLACK after I took off my shoes and socks. The bed frame was broken, the microwave didn't work, the fridge barely worked, and the TV had a CRACK in it. We also had two wasps in the room to deal with, and I'm allergic to bees. We called the front desk over and over and nobody answered. A Motel 6 would've been better. Sleeping in the car would've felt more five-star than this. Please don't stay here.

We didn't even last one night. This was a last-minute booking because we were short on options, and it was a big mistake. They didn't even ask for my ID to confirm who I was, which was my first warning. The first room had garbage under the bed, on the floor, and all over the sheets. They offered a different dirty room as the solution. The beds were disgusting, with black dots, brown stains, holes, and what looked like the last tenant's snack, wrapper included. The beds squealed whenever we moved, and the metal mesh box springs looked straight out of a horror movie. They said smoking wasn't allowed anywhere on the property, but nearly every resident smoked. I wouldn't have opened the window anyway, since there was no lock or screen, just a huge metal bar that was supposed to keep your family safe. There was constant fighting in the parking lot, and people were staring into my car. I complained to the front desk about the room and the smoking, but they told us the room was "clean enough," there was no garbage, and they'd talk to the other residents. There wasn't a single fire extinguisher in its proper place, and the keys were left in an unlocked, easy-to-reach box. The room numbers were written in Sharpie, half rubbed off, so remember yours. The couple running the place seemed massively underqualified and understaffed for such sketchy clientele. Several doors had warning notes threatening eviction, which made the place feel like a home for squatters or something equally disturbing. It's an unsafe environment. The only plus is a short walk to the beach. Sleeping in your car would honestly be better. If this is your only option, run the other way. Don't send your worst in-laws here.
