The night staff were genuinely kind, and the location is handy, with a lovely beach and a fantastic restaurant next door. But the photos online set us up for a different stay, and we felt bamboozled when we arrived. The rooms were stuffy with little airflow, there was no hot water, the utensils were dirty, and the doors had broken locks. There was a paint smell, too. With young children, the unscreened third-story windows were a real worry. Management was hard to reach, and trying for a refund would be a waste of time, based on our experience. It might be a cute place if you’re a college kid or teenager who doesn’t mind the problems. At my age, I’ve probably become pickier, but I don’t think it’s good value for hard-earned money. If you can stretch another $200, you can still find somewhere budget-friendly that’s nicer. As an investor, I’d be tempted if I had the money to fix the whole building properly. It could be really cute again, with that nostalgic, romantic gypsy whimsy. Maybe HGTV reads google reviews.
