We always get that fabulous view, but when it's just my husband and me, we pick Unit 1. We've also stayed in larger units when our children came along. Each unit has its own setup to suit different needs, and the rooms are clean and well supplied. It's become our go-to place in Lincoln City. The building is old, probably from the 1930s, so it has a cozy “Grandma's Cottage” feel.

Waking up and seeing the ocean right outside the window is one of my favorite parts of staying here. My family has been coming to the overlook motel every year starting August 1, for over four years, and it's become a tradition full of great memories and fun. The beds are so comfortable, the showers are amazing, and even the bathrooms feel welcoming. I love Lincoln city and the overlook motel. I highly recommend staying here. It is life-changing.❤️

We come here on and off and have for quite a few years. Room #4 is our regular choice because of the view from the deck. Since our last stay, the bed, chairs, and frig have all been updated. They're pet friendly too!

At Unit 7, Overlook Hotel in Lincoln City, the ocean views are unreal. The windows frame wide skies, bright sunsets, glimmering waves, passing boats, and the curving coastline. It feels like looking at a painter's dream or an endless postcard. There's one small quirk: the bathroom door barely closes. Still, with the sea and sky looking like that, I can live with it.

I was in number 1, a gorgeous room with a beach view. The cleanliness is why I gave it just 3 stars: there was hair in the shower drain, a dirty coffee cup, and a cutting board that felt like it hadn't been washed. I wasn't happy that the windows couldn't be opened for fresh air, and it made me worry that I couldn't escape from the bedroom in a fire. There weren't enough outlets, so everything ran on extension cords, which didn't seem very safe. The heater looked like it was from the 50s, and I wouldn't consider it safe at all for little ones. Aside from those issues, it's pretty nice.
