The Scarlet, Lincoln, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel

The room itself was nice, but the steamer they provide, not an iron, shot brown liquid out of the top and ruined my clothes. It hadn’t been cleaned, and the staff weren’t helpful when I brought it up. The restaurant also has no dairy-free main courses, only appetizers, and they can’t modify meals or sandwiches. Local DoorDash is good, though.

After trying a few places in Lincoln, The Scarlet is the clear favorite. The rooms are clean, well insulated, and really quiet. Staff are amazing, and there are several places to eat and drink on site, including a restaurant, coffee bistro, and two bars. The rooftop bar has great views of downtown. They’re good at the little things here.

The shuttle was such a nice perk. It took us to the Haymarket area and later picked us up from a concert at The Pinnacle Bank Arena close to midnight. Parking in the open lot next door cost $20, which felt kind of crazy, but there weren’t many other choices. We didn’t use valet. We were in town for a concert and had a great overnight stay at The Scarlet. Service was great from arrival, and the room was spacious and clean, with no carpet, which I loved. It also had a mini fridge and clothes steamer. I’d definitely stay again.

The room had an amazing, giant window, and otherwise the hotel was really nice. But the bathroom only looked clean at first glance. We found a used, crumpled but unfolded towel in the drawer and dried pee splattered on the toilet seat. Gross. We asked for someone to come clean it, and they seemed indifferent, with no apology at all.
