We’ve stayed here twice now and loved both visits. For Valentine’s weekend, there was a heart on the bed, champagne on ice, chocolate-covered strawberries, and dinner reservations at the cafe waiting for us. The rooms are reasonably priced, and the old 1930's hotel has a lot of charm. The cafe food is great, there’s live music on weekends, and there’s a Speak Easy bar. Thanks for another great weekend. We’ll be back.

We kayaked 10 miles on the Buffalo River and the scenery was beautiful. The hotel has lots of character, too. It’s near the Natchez Trace, with plenty of wineries about a 30 to 40 minute drive away. We went to Amber falls winery and Horseshoe bed winery, and loved both. Love this hotel!

Darwin, the manager, was incredibly helpful and went out of his way to make me comfortable. My dog was welcomed warmly and enjoyed the stay, too. I’d been looking forward to the Commodore Hotel since reading about its history and mysterious encounters, and its quirky, historic charm and timeless feel made for a delightful visit. If you’re after a distinctive stay with a touch of mystery and genuine hospitality, the Commodore Hotel is a fantastic choice.

The Commodore Hotel is a good base for exploring Linden, TN. The owners were around making sure guests were looked after, and the staff were friendly. The food was delicious, and the historic building has live music that’s quiet enough to talk over. Make time for the kayaking tour and the shops nearby. I found unique jewelry, well-priced clothes, and an art consignment shop that gives the town a lot of soul. I’ve really come to love visiting this lively little town surrounded by natural beauty.

Sarah’s Suite felt like staying at a well-to-do uncle’s house. We spent three nights in mid August, and the room was private, quiet, very clean, and comfortable. The bed was great quality, room service was well done, and the staff accommodated us. We mostly dealt with a courteous young man who opened the door to welcome us when we arrived at night, got us into our room right away, and extended our departure time so we could attend church and have a meal before leaving. It’s a historic, family-run American hotel in a small town, with modern conveniences. Some reviewers mention hot water, but in an older historic home we just needed to let it warm up for a couple of minutes, then there was plenty. They had a special music event Friday evening, which we didn’t attend because we had our own plans. When we returned, people were chatting quietly in the cafe room. We were in town for our son’s wedding, and one morning our preschool grandsons, through our married daughter, visited for an hour. We read them stories in the cafe. We’d definitely stay at the Commodore again if we return to Linden.
