The bed was really comfortable, and it was nice and quiet. I liked the rooms and the covered parking, and they have free wifi. The shower was the problem: the water pressure was much too low, it took ages to warm up, and there was long black hair in it. My hair isn't black.
For a low room price, free Wifi was included, and the man in the office was friendly and helpful. He even suggested places nearby, like Black Bear Diner in Porterville. The bathroom was tiny with no proper ventilation. The shower wasn't clean, and the shiny plain tile floor seemed slippery enough to be a hazard.
They'd lost my reservation when I arrived, and the staff were rude, though they did find a room for me. Once I sat on the bed, I saw bed bugs all over the beds and walls. I was so disgusted I left and drove home. Almost a year later, the bed bugs are still haunting me. Do not stay here!
The room was nice and the price really cheap, so it works well for a day trip to sequoia. Just know that the Sequoia entrance is about 50 minutes away, and it takes around 100 minutes to reach the sequoia Nationalpark area where you can start hiking. The climate control and fridge are really loud.
I'm really disappointed. The front desk guy quoted me $10 more than Google's price. When I pointed out that it was cheaper on Google, he got offended and refused to rent me a room, so I had to stay elsewhere. The other reviews were great, which made this even more disappointing.
