Hyatt House BWI Airport Baltimore

We spent three weeks at Hyatt House BWI while water damage at our home was being handled through an insurance claim. We started in a small basic room, then insurance moved us to a suite with a full kitchen and an apartment-like feel, which I liked even more. The cleaning staff were very kind, though we had to communicate with gestures because of the language barrier. I loved the hotel enough to recommend it to friends, until the final days. Four days before checkout, we lost power for over two hours. The night before leaving, the heater failed on a snowy night. I called for more than three hours and kept hearing that someone would be there shortly. Eventually I found out the maintenance person was also the shuttle driver and was busy driving. The technical problems themselves can happen, and I understand that. What bothered me was the lack of honesty. They wouldn’t give us a temporary room to stay warm unless we moved everything. With just one day left and kids with us, moving all our belongings for a few hours made no sense. I had to drive my kids home, about 20 minutes away, to get heaters, then come back. If our house had been farther away, we couldn’t have done that. We spent the night using my heaters, and someone only came by in the morning as we were getting ready to leave. By then there was no point, and we left with the problem unresolved. I didn’t want to return after that, but we couldn’t find another option that worked for our needs, space, kitchen, distance from work and home, and timing, so we’re coming back for the final construction phase. I hope they handle things better this time. For now, I’d give it 6.5/10, and I’ll update the review if this stay goes better.

Clean rooms, good service, and a comfortable stay near BWI. The included breakfast buffet was excellent, and the airport shuttle is free. They’ll also take you to the nearest light rail station. Sam, the driver, was fantastic. I recommend it!

The staff were prompt, courteous, and helpful, and the 4:00 am airport shuttle driver was friendly too. We told them about our concerns, but five days have passed without a return call. We froze in the room. The shower barely trickled, and the water was lukewarm to cold, so you’d have to be happy with a spray shower. It feels like the owners have cut costs too far. Guests deserve a better experience.

The room was okay and the front desk staff were kind, but housekeeping left all our pillows on the floor while we were out. I’m a germaphobe, so finding them that way really upset me. The desk had no spare pillows and could only provide clean pillowcases. The pillows were mushy and uncomfortable to begin with, and the whole thing made the stay feel gross.
