The biggest letdown came after the wedding. Sean said he’d send my mom some photos the next day, but they never arrived. She tried four emails, two texts, and two voicemails over 4-6 weeks without getting an answer. When Kayla finally replied after I stepped in, she said my mom and I weren’t being understanding. We later sent Bishop Farm a letter with our concerns and disappointment, and months went by without a response. The stay was rough too. The farmhouse ran out of hot water, so guests had cold showers on the wedding day. The cabins were covered in ladybugs, not just a few flies or ants, and one guest left his cabin because of it. Nobody apologized. Guests were left to sort out check-in themselves, and because no one was at reception, my family had to find out where people were staying and show them to their rooms. For a place calling itself a bed and breakfast and charging five-star prices, that was disappointing. Kayla was also hard to deal with. Her passive-aggressive manner made several of our relatives uncomfortable. Communication between her and Sean was poor, and the resulting stress on the wedding day spoiled my walk down the aisle, which was the most important moment for me. We married at Bishop Farm last September. There was confusion at first about our date, but the owners smoothed it over and we went ahead. Looking back, that may have been a warning. We know weddings have hiccups, but these problems made the experience really unpleasant. I can’t recommend the venue.
