The Inn At Stone Mill

The free waters, sodas, and morning breakfast items were very good. I didn’t really run into the staff. The building is old, and the rooms are decent for its age, though the walls are very thin.

The people made the stay wonderful. Everyone we met was welcoming and super friendly, and Petra, the housekeeper, was an absolute delight. Breakfast was great too. It’s a quaint stay in a lovely old mill and office building by the canal, with beautiful surroundings and a lovely floor where the Inn is. The rooms are fairly large and clean, and the place has a charming, slightly office-converted-to-hotel feel. It’s close to being a lovely boutique hotel. A few changes would help. The mini fridge used as a nightstand had a noisy compressor, even though there was room to put it elsewhere. The walls were paper thin: I could hear normal conversation and snoring from both adjacent rooms, and even toilet paper rolls through the bathroom walls into the hallway. The shower heads were poor, and the very loud blow dryer seemed cheap and didn’t work well. Better soundproofing and those bathroom fixes would make a big difference.

We booked the two-bedroom loft at The Inn at Stone Mill in Little Falls, NY for May 2025, and it was a rare find. It had two separate bedrooms and bathrooms, plus a warm, inviting kitchen and living room that made it feel like home. We didn’t get to try all the Inn’s services, but there seemed to be plenty to explore. We’ll return for both the hotel and the Little Falls experience. The restored old mill now has hotel rooms, offices, and a few local services. Exposed brick, historic architecture, and canal views give it an authentic, quaint feel. Little Falls is quiet and walkable, with character, antique stores, artisan shops, and picturesque streets for a peaceful stroll. Things wind down early, which limited our dining choices when we arrived late, so we shopped at the nearby Price Chopper and made a cozy meal in our suite. The slower pace made it easy to relax by the river, explore historic downtown, and chat with friendly locals. It felt like stepping into a simpler time, in a good way.

The old stone mill is charming, and the rooms are clean and comfortable, with waterfront views. It’s a great spot for bikers, just off the Erie Canal trail and less than half a mile from both the trail and town center. They can accommodate bikes in the room or downstairs. Friendly staff and a well-stocked common area with snacks and refreshments make it welcoming. There’s also a full kitchen for guests and complimentary breakfast each morning.
