Baugh Motel, SureStay Collection by Best Western

The bed corner gave way when I sat down, the sink was falling apart, and there wasn’t any hot water. The room smelled awful, like mold and death, and there were bed bugs. If you want somewhere to relax and sleep, don’t come here. I’m never coming back.

My teenage daughter and I both loved our stay, and we’re already planning to come back just to stay here again. It felt much more like a bed and breakfast than a motel. The room was spotless and everything was great. The vintage bathrooms were my favorite part. I saw that some remodeling was mentioned, and I’d be sorely disappointed if they gutted those lovely bathrooms for generic hotel ones. I spent 16 years working on the design side of hospitality, so I really treasure a place with this much charm.

The rooms were spacious and clean, and the staff were nice. We enjoyed the outdoor pool and hot tub, though the pool didn’t seem heated and was still a bit chilly toward the end of July. It’s an older hotel, but I’d stay again. Breakfast options are limited. One morning it wasn’t very good, the next was better, and there isn’t much seating.

A soft bed, quiet room, and a shower with amazing pressure, though the water does tend to run hot. Breakfast is simple but good quality, and there’s a cute little pool and jacuzzi. It’s an adorable, comfortable place, like a character house, and seems lovingly maintained.
