We understood the property had been hit by a hurricane six months earlier, and we were willing to be patient about recovery. What upset us was being assured in December, February, and early March that the rental was sound, then learning two days before departure that our original unit wasn't ready. We were moved to another room at no extra cost, but arriving to find a large dumpster and an outhouse in the driveway wasn't the setting we wanted. There were cracked pool tiles and places to trip, too. When we asked the property manager for a discount because we were unhappy, she refused and said this was the most profitable time of year. That wasn't our concern. We don't appreciate being misled, and it wasn't right.

Margaret checked us in and was a real gem, so pleasant and helpful with anything we needed. She made the stay extra special. For a kayak outing, I took a tour with Happy Paddler and loved the scenery, stories, and Nick's great sense of humor. We also had breakfast at Coquina Beach Cafe, a nice casual meal by the beach, and dinner at Whitney’s, where Joyce was playing live music. The sign out front is easy to miss, as we found out, but circling back was worth it. We spent four nights in Unit 2, which was bigger than expected, spotless, well kept, and equipped with pretty much everything: kitchen supplies, towels, linens, beach chairs, an umbrella, pool noodles, you name it. The screened porch is right by the ocean, and being able to walk back in two minutes for something or a break from the Florida heat was so convenient. We loved Longboat Key and Cabana Beach Club and plan to make it our yearly getaway.

The owner was great to work with, and there was plenty of room. Our favorite spot was the dock outside Cabana 12, with its amazing, peaceful view. Perfect for morning coffee or a glass of wine at happy hour. We had the best time and can't wait to come back next year!

My sisters asked me to come spend the day, and we had a lovely time catching up on the beach and enjoying the property's amenities. It seems like a great vacation spot. We made dinner on the outdoor grill and ate in the open area beneath the building.

The bedrooms weren't connected to the bathrooms, and the bathrooms were small. We also hadn't been told the pool was closed. The kitchen light wasn't working, and the owner was slow to respond about fixing it. It wasn't addressed until the day before we left.
