The Resort at Longboat Key Club

The suite's kitchen and washer/dryer were a big plus, and everything was very clean. Kimberly helped us at check-in and offered a different room, which made a huge difference. We ended up looking over the harbor, where we could see manatees and dolphins, and there was a raccoon and her babies nesting in a palm just outside our doors. It felt like staying in a nature preserve. We didn't try the spa, but my husband and I loved the beach, pool and restaurants. The staff really go out of their way here, and the grounds are so carefully kept. We've stayed at other Opal hotels, but this one stands out for the people and property. We'll be back soon. The people made the biggest impression on me. Everyone was warm, attentive and seemed proud to be there, and nothing felt like too much trouble. I came for two days of meetings, but left after three feeling refreshed, as if I'd had a vacation too. My room was spotless and thoughtfully designed, and the spacious balcony was a lovely spot to feel the breeze off the water. The beach was cared for each morning, so it looked pristine for guests who weren't tied up in meetings.

We booked here because we were in Florida for a wedding at the resort, and it turned out to be such a relaxing stay that I'd say book it now. We're usually Air BNB people for vacations, but everyone here was so friendly and helpful. I watched the beach staff set out more than 30 Chase lounges in neat rows with umbrellas, rain or shine. Someone came by every morning with fresh towels or water bottles for the fridge, and I swear they checked the room twice a day. You don't carry your own bags up, and there's no squeegee in the shower, which means you don't have to deal with those little chores. I saw how hard everyone worked and appreciated all they did for our family. We'll be back!

Marvin Palacios was a real help before we arrived, sending resort information and arranging our reservation. He answered our emails and calls quickly and courteously, and his support throughout the process was outstanding. During our week, starting November 29, 2025, we also appreciated Resort Manager JonPaul's help when construction in the parking lot interrupted our quiet time. He made sure we were looked after, and we're grateful to both of them. We enjoyed the amenities and service overall, especially the excellent beach access and dining options. The hotel itself was pleasant, and we had a good stay in the Sarasota/Longboat Key area.
