The rooms are VERY spacious, with full kitchens stocked with pots, pans, glasses, and more. The beds are comfy, trash service is provided, and there are free BBQ grills to use. It’s in a GREAT area with lots of food just a few feet away, plus Kohl’s, Sephora, Kings Soopers, and Walmart down the road. The guy at the front desk was so helpful, and everyone was super nice during my extended stay. But nobody explained the rules when we checked in. We weren’t told the cupboard charges came on Mondays or given any check-in sheet, then they acted like it was my fault and threatened to kick us out early if we couldn’t pay on time. I also overheard the manager being rude to a customer asking for a refund, saying she just felt bad for her. That whole interaction made me really uncomfortable. There’s also been broken glass and glass bottles around the building, even after people were made aware of the danger.

I spent a week at Candlewood Suites Longmont and the in-room workspace became my command center for getting work done. Having a full kitchen was helpful, too. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the laundry facilities were convenient. The suite had what I needed for an extended stay. It felt more like a comfortable, well-equipped home base than a hotel, and it’s a reliable option if you need to stay in the Longmont area for a while.

I wouldn’t stay here again or recommend this place. We had a bad experience on a work trip a year ago, but decided to give it another shot. This time was even worse. The front desk woman looked visibly sick and wasn’t wearing a mask. We told her we were immunocompromised and wanted to cancel. She said it was only a stuffy nose, then said she’d cancel and check us out but wouldn’t refund us. We asked several times, but she wouldn’t budge. We contacted booking.com, where we’d booked, and they also asked the hotel to refund us as a matter of courtesy and decency. We called their sister hotel, Holiday Inn, and after hearing what happened, they were happy to offer us a discounted rate for the night. They were amazed that Candlewood Suites was being so unaccommodating. It’s upsetting to see people and businesses care so little about human value even after the pandemic. If you’re sick, even with a stuffy nose, stay home or at least wear a mask. Period.

The hotel and rooms are great and spacious, but we stay to get a night’s sleep, and the mattresses matter most. The top mattresses are way too soft, lumpy, and old. Seriously, replace them now. Call before booking to make sure new ones have been installed.
