Candlewood Suites Longview by IHG

Jamie made check-in easy and was awesome. I checked out online without any trouble, and the room was reasonably priced, clean, and bright. It has a kitchenette, a large well-lit bathroom, and a great shower with plenty of hot water. The bed was comfortable, just a little too soft for me. There were trucks from a tree-trimming company and an oil service company, but still lots of well-lit parking. It's close to restaurants, a mall, and stores. I paid $50.00 per night for my dog, which seems typical for dog-friendly hotels. There were signs saying guests who don't clean up after pets could be charged a $100.00 fee. That's fine with me. I pick up after my baby, and everyone else should too. The room needs some maintenance: its door lock was almost falling out, so I tightened the screws by hand and told the desk clerk it needed fixing.

The rooms were decent, but none of the USB charging ports worked. When I brought a few issues with my first room to the staff's attention, they were amazing and courteous. Great work.

The hotel feels outdated and could use a facelift, and the location and atmosphere aren't great. The friendly staff made up for a lot. Victoria made checkout very easy, the older gentleman on the night shift was friendly whenever I passed through the lobby, and a younger Hispanic man checked me in well. I also enjoyed the prize wheel and won sour Skittles. Those three people really carried the team.

Henry Parsons, Director of Sales, did an amazing job booking my room. At the front desk, Lora and Diego were efficient and welcoming. The hotel was very clean, my room had a full-size refrigerator with a freezer and a dishwasher, and I felt safe there. I was detouring to visit a cousin in Longview on my way to a funeral in southeast Texas. I liked the hotel so much that I booked two nights for my return trip to Arkansas. Thanks to everyone who made me feel welcome. I highly recommend Candlewood Suites. The price can't be beat, and every part of my stay amazed me. It was better than a five-star hotel!
