Best Inn

The room was spacious and came with a fridge and microwave. It was clean, the area seemed safe, and the mid-century look gave the place some character. Staff were very friendly and helpful when we had a problem. Just remember that check-in ends by 10pm and checkout is by 10am, and call if anything comes up.

We booked an apartment for three people two weeks ahead, but when we arrived in LA they gave us a room with only one bed. We asked how three grown guys were meant to sleep there, and were told they were full. They offered another bed for an extra $30. For all three nights, nobody came to clean the room, so we had to use the same towels each day. A really bad experience.

I arrived at 10:20 on Christmas Eve and found a sign saying check-in had to be done before 10pm. That cutoff hadn't been mentioned online when I booked, and the number listed on Google was disconnected, so I had to find another room. Later, I got a working number and spoke with a woman, but she wouldn't refund me or book another night, even though I felt the website had failed to give notice. The whole thing felt like a scam. Experiences like this are why I'd rather stay at a corporate hotel than support a mom-and-pop place, and I believe bad business will come back to those responsible.

Stay away, especially if you have children. The place was filthy and unsanitary, and I saw bed bugs. The front desk clerk was rude, the price was too high, and the deposit was steep. It's not fit for kids. They should rename Best Inn to Terrible Quality Inn.
