Brimfield Stay

The kitchen had what you'd need to cook, the coffee stations were a nice touch, and the backyard was pleasant for sitting in the night air. Everyone I met was cordial, though I saw mostly men staying there. The pods themselves have vents, but you can't adjust their temperature or airflow. You'll smell someone else's food or vape, and hear them snore. I'd rather have had a proper room, even if it still meant sharing a bathroom. Getting in and out of a floor-level pod is getting to be too much for me. The place also had a mausoleum feel. The bathroom near the pods had two toilets and two showers, but the toilet stalls were flimsy closet doors with slanted slats. They obscured things just enough to pee, while making me hope no one else would walk in as I tried to gather enough toilet paper. And the paper was single ply. Why do they even make that stuff? I did find a parking spot on the property, but someone who arrived later blocked me in. Thanks, Toyota driver.

The common areas were clean and usable, and the building felt more welcoming than I expected. Brimfield Stay has an international feel amid the busy sprawl of greater Los Angeles. The accommodations have that same international character, and the price is affordable for what you get.

Parking can be a hassle. You might get blocked in on the driveway, or get a street ticket, which they don't warn you about. The free parking is a 15min walk away. The layout looks nice, but they seem to have skipped soundproofing. I barely slept either night, so bring earplugs because you hear everything. The sheets, pillows, and linens are about what you'd expect for the price. There's a reason it's cheaper.

It's a beautiful home, clean and quiet, with a safe feel and working adults and professionals around. The staff are great, accommodating, and provide outstanding customer service. I'll definitely book again.
