Extended Stay America Suites - Los Angeles - Northridge

I was a little uneasy after reading the earlier reviews before my company booked me here, but they didn't match my experience. The staff were friendly and really helpful, my room was spotless and comfortable, and there wasn't any smell. The grounds were kept up, and security was on site. Breakfast was grab-and-go, with coffee, snack bars, oatmeal, and fruit bars. It worked well for me. I'd stay again and recommend it.

The location was good, and I liked the morning coffee, but the stay was still a big disappointment. The room was just fair, the shower pressure was weak, and two bulbs needed replacing. I was there six nights, but they didn't clean the room until day five, after I complained several times. Getting fresh towels was a hassle too. I had to bring used ones to the desk, and sometimes made several trips before clean towels were ready. When I asked about the full trash cans, I was told guests had to handle them. There was also a burn mark through the bed blanket. Poor management. I'll find another hotel next time.

There were bugs in the bathroom when I arrived, which was gross. The front desk woman was understanding and very nice, though, and moved me to a better room that had no bugs. The customer service was wonderful. I did have to tighten the loose door lock bolts in that second room, so management should check them. Apart from that, I enjoyed my stay.

I originally booked five days and paid about 22 extra dollars for daily room cleaning. With the hotel short-staffed on maintenance during the pandemic, Ms Melissa, the lead, added up what I had paid for that option and gave me an extra day. That was a really kind thing to do. Melissa was awesome, and the whole staff gave excellent customer service. The rooms were nice and clean, and this place is a good value. I'd recommend it to anyone.
