Hollywood 7 Star Motel

We arrived at 3:45, exhausted after Universal and the museums, and ended up waiting while a maid cleaned until 5:45. We missed dinner, which made the whole situation even more frustrating. The apartment smelled awful, apparently from the fridge, which had to be turned on and took a long time to cool. Even after the cleaning, the fridge still stank. The place was much better after she cleaned, and she also fixed the bedroom AC, but having cleaning done while we were there was a huge inconvenience. A clean room should've been ready before our visit. At first I was given the wrong entrance code for unit #100. The floors hadn't been swept or mopped, and there was makeup, trash, and hair in the bathroom. The maid showed me #200, which was worse: hair and food crumbs on the bed. I agreed to have the room cleaned. There was a blood-like mark or splashed food on the kitchen blinds, crumbs in the pullout sofa, dirty baseboards, and trash in both the kitchen and bathroom. I also found a bug crawl under the baseboards after moving the trash can. Unit #100 had footprints on the walls and on the concrete walkway outside. The side safety gate and handrail looked damaged, possibly from an accident. We were short one fork and one wine glass, with only three of each for our family of four. I sent photos to the booker, since those things were already missing when we arrived, and I won't pay for them. I won't forget the traffic noise or the rock-hard king bed either. After paying $250 for one night, this lack of cleanliness was completely unacceptable. If we get bitten, I'll contact the Better Business Bureau.

Comfortable, clean, spacious, and in a great location. I noticed the ironing board was marked “made in USA,” which I hadn't seen in a while since they always seem to be “made in China.” Let's make USA great again.

The customer service was awesome, and we liked the place so much that we extended our business trip and started our vacation early. 😄

The location is fantastic for the price, so I think this hotel is worth a stay. I've been here a few days and have enjoyed the big room, with two closets for extra space and a nicely set up bathroom. The staff are friendly and very flexible about guest checkout times. The only downside is the outdated TV. The cable box only played some channels.
