Marina 7 Motel

The employees I dealt with were friendly, and the office attendant was especially nice when we clogged the toilet and needed it fixed. They do require a cash deposit at check-in, though I was able to negotiate with the attendant. The room was dingy, with stains on the blanket and wall, and definitely nothing fancy. I’d only stay again if this was all I could afford, which is why I chose it this time.

The place was decent, aside from the cost and the missing tub drain. I paid $150 for one person, and checkout is at 11 a.m. The room was clean, with no bugs or dirt, and came with cable, free WiFi, a mini fridge, and a microwave.

The bathroom and toilet were very clean, and the carpet didn’t have that usual mildew smell, even though I’m not a fan of carpet. It’s close to the airport, and I’d stay again at this price. The door was missing an extra security latch, though the one there worked.

For an overnight stop near the beach in Santa Monica after visiting friends and having a couple of drinks, this motel works if you don’t want to drive home. It was clean and service was quick, but the building and furniture are noticeably dated. Fine for a night, just not somewhere I’d choose for a fancy vacation.
