Olyver Hotel

There are lots of good restaurants close by, and the location worked well with a car. We also took the metro, which wasn’t a long walk away. There are homeless people on the street next door, but they didn’t bother us. We felt generally safe walking around between 9am and 10pm, and the parking lot is guarded. We’re leaving tomorrow after four days here on a family trip. The hotel isn’t new, but it’s very clean, as you’d expect from a Korean establishment, and all the staff were polite. As Nordics, we especially appreciated the free morning coffee and muffin in the lobby. The price-quality ratio is good. I can recommend this place.

The staff were nice, which makes me feel guilty about leaving a bad review, but the stay was very poor. Across the street there’s what looks like a homeless encampment, with trash, large tarps, shopping carts, and more. There was no AC, and the two nights were very hot and unrestful. Apparently I had to contact the front desk to turn it on. When I asked if I could do that from my room, the desk person just said, “Do you want AC or not?” After it was activated, it worked at first, then started pumping out strong heat. The front desk wouldn’t let me check out a night early, so I ate the cost and left anyway.

The parking felt very safe with security, and they even put out complimentary snacks in the morning. There’s an awesome Korean place next door, it’s the best, so definitely check it out. Loved this hotel. 10/10 would recommend.

We stayed Dec 22-23. The staff were nice and parking was good, but a cleaner opened our door while we were still in the room, even though the “Do Not Disturb” sign was on. She shut it quickly and left once she realized we were there. We reported it to the front desk and checked out right away because we no longer felt comfortable staying. Privacy matters, and this shouldn’t have happened.
