Royal Hawaiian Inn - Mid City, Los Angeles

The property looks recently renovated and is extremely clean and well cared for. Rooms are very clean and nicely decorated, and the staff have been nothing but kind and accommodating. It's also very conveniently located, a few blocks from the 10 freeway and near Melrose, The Sunset Strip, Hollywood, and Downtown LA. The beach is only a quick 15 minute drive. Very reasonably priced, and I was impressed. I'd highly recommend it.

For what you pay, it's fine. The sink was a bit clogged, and the shower curtain kept falling off, so the bathroom floor got soaked when I showered. The water pressure was like a rocket. No conditioner either, but otherwise it was okay.

The walls are so thin you can clearly hear everything from the rooms on either side, talking, snoring, getting rowdy, watching T. V. If noise bothers you, you'll probably want to stay somewhere else. That isn't the owners' fault, though. The room was really clean and nicely decorated, with painted clouds and birds on the ceiling. Mirrors were placed at all the right angles to be freaky without looking trashy. The price was very reasonable, and whoever owns the place takes good care of it, unlike the other motels on La Brea. I thought it was great, apart from the noise.

My husband and I stayed here because it was close to the Uscis application offices. The front desk service was excellent, and the motel room was very clean. The walls are thin, so you hear everything in neighboring rooms. We could also smell weed or tobacco quite strongly when people smoked. Everything else was very good, including the towels, pillows, mattress, and shower.
