Su Casa at Venice Beach

My fiancée and I had a beautiful weekend at the su casa in Vennice. The room was lovely and comfortable, everything worked, and we didn’t run into any problems. The staff were professional, cheerful, attentive to the details, and so kind. The whole experience and positive energy made it a great weekend for two new lovers enjoying vennice beach. The su casa has set a standard no other place in Vennice could top. Thank you, and God bless.

There’s no elevator, no hotel parking, and you can hear noise from outside and upstairs because the rooms aren’t soundproof. We found paid parking about two minutes down the street. Still, we loved the spacious suite and being right by the beach. The walkway has a fun feel, with great musicians and artists set up along it.

The room had some useful features, including a fridge, oven, coffee maker, decent space, and a view over the beach. But I wouldn’t recommend staying here. The bed dipped in the middle and felt firm around the edges, the fridge was noisy right next to it, the windows were screwed shut, and there was no safe or USB port, so bring a wall charger. Noise was a major problem. You could hear activity all through the building, and vibrations came through the thin walls. The restaurant downstairs was especially loud when staff moved tables and chairs at opening and closing. From around 8AM, live musicians played outside our window with their speakers facing our room. Parking was also a hassle. For someone new to LA, it helps to know parking costs a lot everywhere. The hotel hadn’t arranged any discount or convenient deal with nearby lots. Staff suggested parking near Gold's Gym a couple of blocks away, about a 10-15 minute walk, but the spots we found had signs prohibiting parking or limiting it to 2-6 AM. Nearby lots charged $10/hour or $50 overnight until 10am. I’d rather have paid another $50-100/night if the hotel had arranged parking that let us come and go. We had to change plans or cut sleep short to avoid being towed. In hindsight, I’d stay farther from the beach somewhere quieter with private parking. You can still come to the beach for meals and walks without sleeping right on it.

You can stay right on the beach here without spending a lot. It’s a good deal for the location and price, even though it’s not fancy. There’s no parking on site, but nearby lots offer overnight parking that still costs much less than other places with parking. Breakfast at the connected restaurant is also a pretty good deal. I’d recommend it if you’re after an affordable beachfront stay.
