Travelodge Inn & Suites by Wyndham Gardena CA

The kitchenette style rooms are the one decent thing here, but the appliances are old and barely maintained. I wasn't comfortable leaving our belongings in the room. Housekeeping did an awful job, and parking is almost nonexistent, with better odds on the street. The staff were no help at all. Getting an itemized receipt from them seemed to require nuclear physics. This place is so scruffy and disgraceful that they should stop calling it a hotel. I don't recommend it whatsoever.

I paid $605 for five nights in a loft room, which felt a little expensive. The breakfast selection was small, just pastries, milk, yogurt, and cereal. Guests smoked in the hallways despite this being a non-smoking hotel, and those areas were a bit dirty. The basement parking lot was cramped. Still, the room itself was clean, undamaged, and had clean sheets and pillows. Staff were okay, and the stay was pleasant overall for a two-star hotel. I highly recommend staying here.

They charge $100 for a weekday night, and I wish I could get my money back. The room was very outdated, even though I understand they're working on updates. They rented it to us with unpainted drywall putty around the shower, chipped cabinets around both the bath and bed areas, and carpet that felt thick with dirt. Everything about the place was terrible. I would never return.

I'd been there three years earlier and the stay itself wasn't bad, but a front desk staff member caused a serious problem. By the time I left after a little over a month, I'd spent nearly $2,000. They overcharged my bank account because the front desk didn't subtract the cash deposits I'd made and closed out the whole transaction at the original set amount. A woman manager put me on the do-not-rent list, which I don't care about. The place isn't great and is full of druggies. A front desk guy also signed a bill authorizing an $859 charge on my card. I'll show it to my bank as fraud and get my money back. So long, ramada.
