It felt like the Luskin Hotel was part of the university rather than just another place to stay near campus. I liked that students could study in the lobby and desk areas, sharing the space quietly with hotel guests. That gave the place a real connection to UCLA and its academic community. The hotel is right on campus and directly affiliated with UCLA, and it seems intentionally set up to welcome students who need somewhere to study. As someone choosing a hotel near UCLA, I appreciated that commitment and felt good about booking here.

My son is a sophomore at UCLA, so I’ve stayed here three times over the past 2 years. Being right on campus is really convenient. We had breakfast and dinner at Plateia. The breakfast buffet had a good selection, and dinner was fantastic. We stayed at another hotel last month but came back to eat there, having the trout and pizza. Chef’s kiss! Room service is also super fast and tasty.
I was really stressed on January 22nd because our family’s first visit to the United States was underway and my English isn’t very strong. I’d bought NBA tickets through Ticketmaster, but with the game just three hours away, they still hadn’t arrived. Ms. Safirah at reception helped me even though it wasn’t a hotel matter. She spent more than 10 minutes on the phone with the ticket office and stayed patient, professional, and kind throughout. Her help got us the tickets, so I could enjoy the game with my family. She saved our expensive tickets and gave all of us a wonderful first impression of the U.S. and Luskin Hotel. We plan to stay there again on our next visit, and I’ll recommend it to friends and colleagues. Please pass my thanks to Ms. Safirah and the management team. She’s a real asset to the hotel.
The front desk was helpful and took off that day’s parking charge, which I appreciated. The issue was that the small lot under the hotel was full when we returned at night, so we had to use lot 8 and pay. That parking was only valid until 8am the next day, meaning we had to get up early to move the car. Not fun after getting in late. The location is hard to beat if you want to be near UCLA.
The room was clean and modern, and the bed was comfortable. Still, the lack of robes, slippers, and a mini fridge made the stay less comfortable than I’d expect at a pricey 4 star hotel. The coffee in the room was truly awful. It was just okay overall.
