Unik Motel

The rooms were clean, the beds comfortable, and I loved the kitchenette with all its amenities. Inside, everything was renovated and new, though the outside of the property looked a little weathered. Every room had a Smart TV, the Internet was fast, and it was quiet throughout. I’d definitely stay again.

Having a kitchen was great, and for the price it wasn’t bad. It wasn’t especially clean, but clean enough. There was some road noise, and the walls and floors are thin.

The toilet paper holder is right where your shoulder hits the wall, so you have to turn sideways or reach under your other arm to get the paper. That was my biggest pet peeve. The TV turns on but asks me to create an account, so I couldn’t use it. Walls are thin, with lots of noise from outside and neighboring rooms. The room was reasonably clean, but there were a lot of hairs and a smudge on the bed I didn’t want to identify. This is a no frills motel in an iffy location, and after staying the night I wouldn’t go out after dark without being on full alert. The staff speak English as a second language, and no one seems interested in learning it. The gate locks at 11pm, so check into that.

The updated rooms looked really nice at first, so I paid for three nights. Within a few hours, after moving around and turning on the bathroom water, I spotted five roaches. There were more crawling inside the drawers, and I was disgusted. I showed the manager a phone video of them, but he basically dismissed me rudely. I asked to move rooms or get a refund so I could go elsewhere, and he dismissed both requests. Once he had my money, he didn’t care. I wouldn’t recommend this motel. I wish I could give it zero stars. Don’t waste your money.
