Bedbugs were the main problem, but the rooms were filthy too. Our feet turned black after walking over the floor a few times. The sheets had stains, there were dead bugs and dust in the corners, and paint was peeling in the tub. The shower temperature changed dangerously, and the hard beds squeaked. The door had huge gaps and seemed like it could give way with a small shove. There were only two outlets, one barely reachable behind the bed. The pool looked okay, the staff seemed nice, and they offered an easy transfer to the cruise port. Still, absolutely disgusting.

The bed was much too hard, but the hotel worked fine for our night before the cruise. The location is great for that, and the staff were great too. I’d come back in the future.

The room smelled strongly musty, and even the dresser had mold. The other drawers were bubbling and peeling, with brackets holding the cabinets together. In the tiny bathroom, the fan looked covered in mold or something, and there was a cockroach in the tub. One light was loose and wouldn’t turn on, and the flooring was falling apart. With rooms this small, you’d think they could keep them clean, or at least make them look clean.

The staff were pleasant and tried to move us to another room, and they gave us a partial refund with an apology. But after seeing three rooms, I wasn’t comfortable staying. They all felt stale, with dirt and debris under the beds and in the window sills and baseboards. The walls had peeling paint, and although the bathrooms were clean, they were very old and tired. We’d booked for the night before a cruise in January, then left in a hurry after a huge bug crawled out from behind the bed and up the wall. It’s a cheap place for the night, but the busy area has few amenities nearby. The listing says 3.5 stars; I’d give it two at best. Even an old motel can be cleaned enough to make guests feel cared for. I wouldn’t return. I’d pay a couple hundred more for a comfortable night in a better location before embarkation.
