We paid twice for our stay at Valley Inn and are disputing the charge through our bank. At check-in around midnight on February 24, we were told the online payment hadn’t gone through, so we paid $92.80 cash in full at the desk and received our room. Two days later, our card was charged another $92.80, bringing the total paid for the same stay to $185.60. When we went back for an explanation, the staff were dismissive and unprofessional. The employee hurried through the surveillance footage instead of reviewing it carefully. The staff member handling the transaction had his back to the camera for much of it, so the video was vague and hard to understand. When we kept asking questions, we were told to leave and never come back instead of being given a clear answer. Being told to pay cash and then charged on a card afterward is unacceptable. Guests shouldn’t have to fight to confirm how their payment was handled. Get a printed receipt for any cash payment and check your bank statement before and after your stay. Proceed with caution.

I love it here. Since moving to LA in November for the job I’m currently working and love, I’ve been living in hotel rooms practically full time. After trying eight different hotels around the LA area, I can say Valley Inn is leaps and bounds better than the others I’ve stayed at. The accommodations are super comfortable and spacious, there’s a real balcony, the pool is beautifully kept, and the grounds look great. I’m so impressed I’m seriously thinking about leasing and living here full time. If you’re deciding where to stay, come here and you’ll be content and satisfied.

The bed was clean, the AC worked, the water pressure was good, and towels were in the room. But the wallpaper was gross, there was mold all over, the ceilings were cracked and peeling, and there was blood on the wall. The bed felt like concrete, and the 27-inch TV seemed small by today’s standards. There was no breakfast during any of our three days, and the facility badly needs renovation. We paid about $145 a night. They also require ID from every guest, something I’ve never encountered at another hotel.

The security guard seems to make rounds regularly, which helped me feel better about leaving my car out front. Service was good, and the staff were friendly and competent.

The guy wouldn’t let us check in because the person with me had no ID. One of the booking apps asked whether I wanted to add another guest, so I did, but that person still got carded. Garbage management. I never got my refund for that night either. I’d give this place a capital G for garbage.
