La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Los Banos

On 2/22/26, my wife and I stopped here overnight during a road trip. The room was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the person at the front desk was nice, though I didn’t catch their name. Breakfast was the letdown for me: I couldn’t stomach the vegan eggs or sausage, even with salt and pepper. I managed to eat the fresh oranges and waffles. The hotel’s location was great, too. There’s a taco stand one block east, and those were some of the best tacos I’ve had. My wife and I loved the rancho style when they asked how we wanted them.

The large pool area was sunny and welcoming, and the parking lot felt safe, clean, and well lit. There were lots of breakfast choices, though the eggs and sausage tasted a bit funky to me, and snacks and treats were available to buy. The whole place was very clean, but the room itself felt worn, like a landlord special. The walls were so thin that I heard the little dog across the hall barking all night. I was also disappointed that the fitness center treadmill was broken. I’d stay again.

We’d book here again when passing through from the central valley to the Bay Area. It was easy to find and check in, with plenty of parking, and we liked that dogs could stay for a nightly fee. The building and lot felt safe, the decor was nice, and it was clean and quiet. Staff were attentive and polite, and we enjoyed the indoor pool, open 7am-10pm, daily hot coffee, free filtered hot and cold water, and continental breakfast. The breakfast was odd, though: the sausages seemed vegan and made with poor ingredients, while the crumbling scrambled eggs tasted strongly of garlic and not like eggs. In our room with two queen beds, the bathroom door had no lock and we think the ceiling fan wasn’t working. The AC or heater wasn’t working either, but we felt warm enough and got extra blankets, so we didn’t complain.

We’d stayed here before on work trips, and this time we went a little out of our way because I like Wyndam hotels. Ana was pleasant and greeted us with a welcoming smile. The room was just right, and the hotel had the amenities we needed.
