Hampton Inn Louisville Downtown

The convention center is about an eight-minute walk away, so the location is great. This year there was also a shuttle connecting the convention center, the Galt House, and the Hampton Inn, which was a big help since it rained all week. We’d stay here again.

We were in downtown Louisville for a cheer competition, and this was the worst hotel stay I’ve ever had. We had drunk men in the room next door yelling, slamming doors, and coming and going all night. Every slam shook our walls and beds. We called twice, but security kept letting them carry on. The men argued with staff when they went to speak with them, then started pounding on our door as if they might break in. It scared and woke my kids. We called a third time, and the men were still allowed to stay. We couldn’t sleep, and we were eventually offered the option to move, while they stayed another night. I’ve stayed in big cities, even party-heavy Nashville, and never had a hotel allow this kind of behavior. We wanted peace and safety, and neither seemed to matter here. The room had hardly any outlets, and the few available were being used by the TV and fridge, leaving my kids to share the one between the beds. There were used straws under the table, stained sheets, a dirty or possibly moldy ceiling, and what looked like dried vomit or food on the bathroom door handle. Breakfast was missing milk for cereal, waffle syrup, and gravy for biscuits on the first day. The whole stay was awful.

Breakfast was disappointing compared with other Hampton Inns. I drink tea and brought my own, but the water container had coffee in it and the coffee container had water. I asked the kitchen staff to fix it, and waited about 20 minutes for hot water. The lobby floor was so dirty when we left for checkout that our shoes stuck to it. We usually rely on Hampton Inn when traveling, and this was just an hour and a half from home. We found it through the Hilton app because it was 14 minutes from the Mega Cavern, where we planned to visit. Within five minutes of parking, before we’d even gotten out of the truck, a homeless man came over asking for money. I gave him $5 and he walked away. Staff were very nice when we checked in, and running the card for incidentals was routine. The evening itself was fine. At checkout, I questioned why the amount was higher than our reservation. I was told they’d print a receipt. In the truck on the way home, I noticed a $19 parking charge for the lot where we’d left our truck during our paid stay. I complained on Hilton’s site, and Hannah Jones said it was the location’s policy. I replied that if a business chooses to operate in a high-crime area and wants security, that cost should be on the business, not the customer. Six days have passed without a reply from Miss Jones. My husband and I are seriously rethinking our relationship with Hilton.

I never actually stayed at this hotel because they were full, but Timothy gave me the best customer service I’ve ever had at a hotel, maybe anywhere. I’d been dealing with a bedbug problem at Holiday Inn all night, and after midnight I was desperate to find a room for my family. Phone operators wouldn’t tell me what was available that night, only about rooms for noon check-in, so I started driving around to hotels. I found this one at about 1 a.m. on 11/15/25, and it had no vacancies. Timothy heard what had happened and immediately started calling other hotels for us. He kept at it until he found a place, connecting directly with front desks when I couldn’t, probably because I didn’t know how. He found somewhere in about 15 minutes. He was a godsend and saved us that night. I’d highly recommend the hotel based on this alone. If they treat people they can’t even accommodate this well, I can only imagine the service for their guests. Timothy, give yourself a pat on the back. And if his boss sees this, he deserves a raise or a hefty bonus.
