The office staff made us feel welcome, and I wish every place I stayed were like that. This isn't a luxury hotel, but it's a clean, safe spot to get some much-needed rest. The rooms have a microwave and refrigerator; I only wish there were a coffee maker in the room, though coffee is available in the reception area. Pets are welcome for a small fee. The grounds looked pretty decent, and although there was snow when I visited, it looked like there's an outdoor pool and playground. It's also easy to get on and off the highway, which makes it handy for a quick stop on a trip. It's a blast from the past, with dated but clean rooms that do what you need. The pink toilet and sink, plus a shower with hot water and good pressure, brought back memories of what we gave up with low-flow fixtures that don't wash anything down. The bathroom paint was a little rough, understandable with the age and humidity. The room's four block walls meant neither I nor my neighbor could hear the other. The windows could use an update, but they kept the cold out and the heat in, so I don't have much to complain about.

We were on a two-week vacation, staying somewhere different every night, and this was easily the worst motel of the trip. We stayed one night last September, and if check-in hadn't been so late, I doubt we'd have stayed at all. The bedspreads and curtains, carpet, and bathroom fixtures were all old and dated. There was an odor in the room, and I slept dressed, on top of the sheet, because I thought it might be cleaner than the bedspread. I wouldn't recommend it.

Caroline at the front desk, who I think is the owner, and her husband were both friendly and helpful. The place is much cheaper than any other hotel within 20 miles in either direction, and there's truck parking. I love it and will definitely return. I don't usually write hotel reviews, but this place has something special. It feels like stepping back in time. I'm a child of the 80s, and those Shell Pink bathroom fixtures remind me of visiting my grandmother back then. The rooms are mostly as they were 40 years ago, but they're insanely clean. I've stayed in hotels only a couple years old that were in much worse shape. Easily five stars, maybe they deserve six.

The couple who run this hotel are the best. They're always helpful and keep things quiet and safe for guests.

The staff were really friendly when I stopped in for a last-minute room while passing through. It's an old place, but well kept, and I love the pink tub and sink.
