Scott was great when he checked my best friend in, and he even let me bring my bike inside while I visited her. She’d first stayed at the Western, where the amenities weren’t up to par, but at the Travelodge she had everything she needed and found it nicer overall. The Travelodge is at the east end of Lovell, Wyoming, facing the mystical bighorn mountain range.
The Travelodge is very clean, fairly quiet, conveniently located, and has easy parking. There’s no breakfast on site, but you get 10% off breakfast at Mustang Cafe. I come every month to visit family at the local nursing home, and as a power wheelchair user, this is the only hotel or motel I can make work for at least 20 miles. They have one ADA room. It’s far from up to code, but someone using a wheelchair alone could manage. The bed definitely needs updating. Since I travel with my daughter, we find a regular double queen most comfortable. I use the rolling desk chair to get through the bathroom door, and the room works as a nice home base. Management and staff are exceptionally accommodating. Call the local number if you want a ground floor room.
Whether you’re passing through or staying to play, I don’t think you’ll find better accommodations anywhere else in town. My room was clean and well kept. Thanks, Scott!
We were in town for a 7 day hunting trip in Oct 2023. While waiting to check in, we noticed the printout I attached, and I joked that it might be a “SIGN” of things to come. Turns out I wasn’t wrong. We should have stayed at the Cattlemen Motel. During the entire 7 days, our room wasn’t cleaned once. After coming back from hunting, sometimes with deer blood on us and our clothes, we got no fresh towels, no emptied garbage, and no new sheets. We left notes at the front desk, but there was NEVER anyone working there or around to clean our rooms, and we never got a reply. We had to go into the open “EMPLOYEES ONLY” room ourselves to get towels, sheets, shampoo, and garbage bags. We tried cleaning with the vacuum, but it didn’t work. The room also looked nothing like the photos. There wasn’t a blanket, only sheets. We won’t stay there again unless the rooms are free and the owner apologizes. I heard the owner was a Mangus from Lovell, and we often saw him driving by, moving things from the back of a white Ford truck to the Country Store garage next door he bought as well. Hiring someone for the front desk might help avoid reviews like this. We’re clearly not the only ones who noticed that no one works there. Sad. I guess you get what you pay for.
After nearly two months on the road, I’ve stayed in some absolute dumps that cost more. This place was way better than I expected for the price, and it was refreshing to get what I paid for. The rooms looked recently renovated, with modern fixtures, the Wi-Fi was fast, and the staff were friendly. I wish the average Super 8 slum lord would come see how a hotel is supposed to be run.
