The rooms were clean, Wi-Fi worked well, and parking was easy. There’s a diner attached that stays open 24/7. We didn’t try it, but it’d be handy if you’d been on the road for a while. Nothing fancy, just what was described, and that’s why I gave it 5 stars.

The diner was adorable and smelled great. The rooms weren’t updated, but they were clean, and the TV worked without a struggle. The manager handled both check-in and check-out and was really kind and friendly. For 100 bucks, this was a great motel. I don’t drink coffee, so they gave me a free Pepsi when I checked out.

That’s Penny's Diner with a hotel in its parking lot, even though it’s described as a 24/7 diner. The bed was comfortable and the TV worked, which were the things I cared about. The drain stoppers didn’t work properly, so they’d been left off to the side, and the curtain rods had come loose. Still, it was just fine.

The price felt high for what we got. The beds were comfortable, there was plenty of hot water, and the A/C and heat were fine. The TV didn’t work right, but that wasn’t an issue for us. The rooms were adequate for what they were. You have to remember it’s a Travel Lodge, not a Marriott!

The smell hit as soon as I opened the room door, though strangely I couldn’t smell it in the hallways. Every room I’ve been in had that musty, mildew / wet dog odor. It could gag a maggot off a gut pile. The staff were very nice, the diner had good food, and everything looked clean and orderly. That’s where the good ends.
