Pelican Walk 1005 - Two Bedroom - Condo

The elevator broke on our first day, and the wait had been up to 15 minutes because the building is so large. We were on the 7th floor, and my wife has leg problems, so we asked at the office when repairs would happen. They had no idea. On day two we had to climb all seven floors. We told the office we wanted to leave, but they said they couldn’t refund us, so we had to stay or lose our money. We didn’t want to go out because we couldn’t manage those stairs. The apartment was dirty from the start, the pool was dirty and wasn’t being cleaned, and the windows were damaged. It looked like the apartments weren’t getting maintenance. We rented for a week for my wife’s birthday, and it was the worst experience we’ve had. I’m going to post pictures here. I learned my lesson.

Unit 108 was awful and disgusting. There was a horrible smell when we walked in, and everything looked dirty and dinged up, nothing like the online pictures. Things were broken, stained, and sticky. There was spilled stuff, body hair, and dust on the beds, hair and sand across the floors, unclean toilets, and hair and mold in the showers and sinks. Old food was left in the cabinets, wet dirty towels were in the washer, and dead bugs were squashed on the curtains, windows, and walls. We also noticed the porch was infested with mice. Parking was very limited and there was no security for our vehicles out front. When we reported how nasty the condo was, they offered to kick us out so they could “reclean” it. By then we’d unloaded everything and didn’t feel comfortable with strangers coming in around our belongings. Nobody offered a refund or even an apology. We’ll never stay at this crappy place again if they let their units get trashed like that.

We loved the decks and layout, and the staff were very nice. Check-in was simple, and the condo was exactly as advertised. Just simply perfect, one of the best units we’ve ever rented. We’d definitely stay here again.

We love Pelican Walk because the rooms are clean and updated, and the place is so well kept. Shout out to the ladies who keep the pools and grounds looking great. Looking forward to next year.
